Questionnaire results

After creating our survey, we shared a link on social media in order to collect as many answers as possible. We gathered and analysed our results and this helped us to learn what people wanted to appear within our thriller film.

1. What in your opinion makes a thriller most exciting?
In response to this question, the majority of our participants answered "storyline", we will ensure based on this feedback that our storyline is extremely gripping from the outset in order to intensify the excitement for the viewer.


2. How would you prefer a thriller film to begin?

 In response to this question, the majority of people answered "straight into the storyline", this shows that we should focus on including a rapid start when filming our thriller film.

3. What is your preferred subgenre out of the three listed below?

From this we learnt that the majority of people prefer to watch a crime thriller, this suggests that myself and my group may want to consider incorporating some aspects of crime within our film.



4. What age did you begin watching thrillers?

In regards to this question, 100% of participants answered "15 and under", this gives us a good idea of an age limit to set for our film.

5. What do you enjoy most about thriller films?

In response to this question, the majority of participants answered "the mystery", from this we will ensure to include many elements of mystery within our film in order to provide the viewer with maximum enjoyment.

6. Which gender would you prefer the main character to be within a thriller film?

These results show us that the public are not concerned about the gender of the protagonist, this is helpful as it reassures us that we don't have to focus or worry too much when selecting the protagonist's gender. These results also surprised me as stereotypes and norms normally effect people's opinion, however that does not appear to be the case here.



7. What do you think helps build suspense in a film most effectively?

In response to this question, the majority of people answered "sound/music", from this myself and my group will be sure to include a cornucopia of dramatic sound/music in order to build suspense throughout and engage the viewer.
